The DS-8 RD (Rapid Deployment) combines drone frequency sensors, industry leading software and a user interface (UI) screen in a single, portable unit. Weighing just 10kg and no bigger than a large briefcase, the DS-8 RD can be taken anywhere to provide flip-and-go detection the moment it is switched on.
With four external antennas mounted on the unit, the DS-8 RD delivers intelligent omnidirectional scanning using multiple sensor types. The unit has dynamic mapping capability that converts location data into a visual display. The drone system can locate and track the flight of selected UAVs, even when the unit itself is on the move.

Remote Rapid Deployment
The DS-8 RD features a switchable power supply, meaning it can either run on batteries for rapid mobile deployment or be plugged into the mains to recharge or for longer periods of use. The rechargeable lithium batteries provide up to three hours of run time on a single charge. To extend the period of operation without needing to plug the unit in, the device is hot swappable to ensure constant detection.
The unit can also connect to cellular data networks, allowing it to communicate with and send detection data to external devices remotely.
Fully customisable frequencies
In addition, the DS-8 RD has been designed to to scan for other signal frequency types that hobbyist drones might be flying on. The detector can intercept the drones video footage where available and this can be displayed on the user interface which allows the option for the user to record the footage. On selected drones, the detector also has the capability to obtain the GPS coordinates and display this on the user interface, showing the drone, its pilot and also the flight path.
Multiple Drone Types
The DS-8 RD scans for radio frequency (RF), WiFi and telemetry signals as standard – the three most common signal types used to fly drones. It can also intercept GPS data from selected drones using GPS location tracking, and use this to pinpoint location.
Increased accuracy of detection
Not only do these multiple sensors increase the number of drones the DS-8 RD can detect, they also increase the accuracy of detection, as the system is able to compare data types to clarify whether the source of the signals is a UAV or not. Accuracy on detecting drones is very precise with the help of eight internal sensors and four external antennas that work simultaneously alongside artificial intelligence to provide exceptional drone detection.
