Unlike many UAV detection systems on the market, the DS-8 AI incorporates multiple different sensor technologies. Not only does this mean it works with different types of drone, it also increases accuracy, avoiding both false alarms and missed detection.
The core sensors built into the specially designed antenna array scan for radio frequency (RF), WiFi and telemetry signals, covering three of the main UAV control protocols. The drone defence detector can intercept the drones video footage where available and this can be displayed on the user interface which allows the option for the user to record the footage. On selected drones, the detector also has the capability to obtain the GPS coordinates and display this on the user interface, showing the drone, its pilot and also the flight path.

No Blind Spots
The DS-8 AI is designed to pick up signals from 360 degrees in all directional planes, eradicating any detection ‘blind spots’. The detection range can be configured to suit the requirements of any airspace with a range of over 5km*.
In addition, the DS-8 AI does more than just alert you when a drone has strayed into range. It pinpoints the precise location and tracks movement for robust real-time monitoring on selected drones.
Feeding input from the multiple sensors into the proprietary software application, sophisticated algorithms collate and cross-reference the data to a) confirm the tell-tale ‘fingerprint’ of a UAV and b) identify the location using dynamic mapping. Where GPS signal data is available, the software is also able to plot and track courses of single or multiple drones in real-time.
